Semi Turnkey Execution Within the general turnkey project philosophy, direct purchase by the investor of locally available equipment packages and/or services might prove to be more cost-effective without prejudicing the overall project implementation. Typical examples of such set-ups are tank farms, structural steel and civil works when the investor can rely on local companies that are well known to him. The role of De Smet Engineers & Contractors’ (DSEC) in such cases will however remain unchanged and will still cover the overall management of the project, even though parts of it are not directly contracted to it. Moreover, DSEC will produce all documents and advisory services to enable the investor to inquire and place orders within the project’s timetable.
