RECEPTION

Beet reception

Sugar losses before beets enter the factory are more than ever the object of special attention. In order to limit these losses, damage to the beets has to be avoided and their contact time with water needs to be reduced to a minimum.
Dry storage is therefore more and more commonly used in the modern plants.

Different types of beet intake can be implemented:

  • by unloading beets into underground hoppers from where they are reclaimed by mean of an extracting screw
  • by pushing beets with front end loaders on an adjustable speed underground belt conveyor

Beet washing

The beet washing installation consists of:

  • pre-washing
  • washing
  • washing/finishing

as well as:

  • destoners
  • leaf catchers
  • grass and tails separation unit
  • beet tails washer
  • grass washer
  • grass grinder
  • stones washer

These installations use water circuits in counter current with mud concentration.
The contact time of the beet is as short as possible, but still enabling a perfect washing even of the furrows.

Cane Yard

Sugar Cane is delivered from the field to the factory in various forms of transport, which vary according to economic conditions specific to each respective factory location.

Methods of cane unloading as well as cane storage concept vary accordingly.

The design of the factory Cane Yard, through its layout and its specific equipment, is such as to optimise the conditions of feeding cane to the factory with a minimum of cane deterioration and sugar loss in that area.
