ENGINEERING AND R & D Special Sugar Studies DSEC has over the years carried out many technico-economical studies for sugar plant restructurations. In the frame of the Kyoto agreement, DSEC has realised several studies for sugar plants with the aim to reduce the energy consumption. DSEC has also developed a in-house computer programme simulating the operation of sugar plants or refineries from a technological and energetic point of view. This programme is extremely efficient and has been the basis of many studies and realisations done by DSEC. Pilot Plants DSEC has developed and tested in pilot plants new proprietary techniques and technologies, more particularly in the extraction field.
