Hybrid bio/e-methanol
Hybrid Bio/E-Methanol
In a hybrid Bio/E-Methanol plant, hydrogen is added to the biomass syngas to correct its hydrogen deficit. Depending on configuration, the methanol output per tonne of biomass can almost be doubled to that of a stand-alone bio-methanol plant, maximising carbon and resource efficiency.
Hybrid concepts require careful optimisation of biomass throughput, electrolyser capacity or H2 sourcing, and heat integration. DSEC supports its clients with heat and mass balance modelling at feasibility stage, before capital is committed.
