Successful Commissioning of GROS Sugar Refinery Expansion in Algeria
De Smet Engineers & Contractors (DSEC) successfully completed the commissioning and performance test of the expansion project of Grande Raffinerie Oranaise de Sucre (GROS) in Algeria, in partnership with the Berrahal Group.
As EPC contractor (Engineering, Procurement and Commissioning), DSEC increased the plant’s production capacity from 1,000 to 1,500 TPD of white sugar, strengthening operational efficiency and output.
The project integrates DSEC’s innovative 3Zero technology, enabling sustainable sugar production with no effluent, no chemicals, and no resins.
This successful commissioning highlights DSEC’s expertise in industrial projects, sugar refinery expansion, and sustainable process solutions.
